Cleaning your RDA Coils

In the long run, your vape’s RDA tends to collect small leftover particles on its coils accumulated from the e-juice. The biggest reason you should clean your vape so often is that if you don’t clean it frequently, this residue will have a profound impact on the taste and overall lifespan of the vape.

Cleaning your vape immediately after purchasing should be on top of your list of priorities if you want to have a pleasant experience. This is because the coils come with accumulated oils and greases accrued during the manufacturing process. Since you will be using the coil for vaporizing the liquid before inhaling, you don’t want harmful adulterants in it.

Therefore, good maintenance of the vape coil will guarantee you the best vaping experience your device can offer. Here are the quick and easy steps to achieve a thorough and successful cleaning.

When to clean the RDA coil

The atomizer will always perform better as long as it is kept clean. For that reason, it is recommended that you prevent residue from accumulating on the coil otherwise; you will hear the familiar sizzling sound produced when the leftovers burn on the coils. What do you need to clean the coil? Here’s everything you’ll want to have on hand:

  • Paper towels
  • Some warm or hot water
  • Dish soap
  • The Atomizer
  • Your favorite E-juice

Step 1: Begin by disassembling your RDA

Remove the RDA from the packaging material and carefully inspect it for damages. Proceed to completely disassemble the RDA while putting the O-rings aside. They don’t need to be cleaned during this process. One of the reasons why you should seldom clean the O-rings is that doing do so would disfigure them. Since their shape is highly crucial, such an error can have an undesirable impact on the taste.

Step 2: Proceed to wash your RDA

Start by mixing the warm or hot water with the dish soap and then putting everything in the bowl containing the mixture. As mentioned earlier do not add the O-rings in the mixture. As the residue soaks, it’ll loosen up over time and be easier to remove.

Step 3: Rinse the cleaned RDA and dry it

Rinsing it removes the excess soap that has accumulated on its parts, and washes away the bulk of the residue. Use more clean water to prevent a soapy aftertaste. Use a dry paper towel to dry it and to remove any remaining residue.

Step 4: Finish the exercise by reassembling and building the RDA

Having finished the cleaning process, carefully reassemble the RDA while ensuring that all its parts are intact. Proceed to build the clean atomizer.

Step 5: Start Vaping

Follow the traditional vaping process by soaking the e-liquid of your choice and screwing it according to your favorite mod. Enjoy!

PS- One more trick you’ll want to know:

Begin by firing the vape for few seconds. This serves to burn the coils and to dry them. After that, rinse the coils in hot water. You can dry burn the coils as long as they last and then proceed to replace/change them once they dirty up beyond further dry burning. This way, you won’t have to replace the coils, typically, until after four or more weeks of fresh vaping. Of course, it depends a lot on the type of vape juice you’re puffing.
